Each ward area has a dedicated Neighbourhood Policing Team, supported by a Neighbourhood Enforcement team and Rural crime team that collaborate with partners and stakeholders to target activity, tackling issues that are important to local communities.

ASB (Anti-Social Behaviour)
Location:
Sturminster Newton- Stour Castle.
Issue:
Drug related ASB by those residing and visiting specific address and surrounding area, causing distress to local other local residents and the wider town.
Planned action to tackle this issue:
- Collaborate with the Community Safety partnership and local housing providers to look at a wide range of options and interventions,
- Engage with the local community to reassure and develop intelligence,
- Take robust action where offences are committed.

- Multi-agency approach is taking place,
- Proactive patrols are also taking place,
- Persons have been removed from a property to protect the resident.

Acquisitive Crime
Location:
Marnhull.
Issue:
There has been a recent increase in thefts related matters in Marnhull which has affected the resident and business community.
Planned action to tackle this issue:
- Hotspot patrols,
- Work with Rural crime team,
- Engage with the public to reassure and provide crime prevention advice - including Community contact points (dates to be published),
- Collaborate with partners.

- Key individual arrested and returned to prison,
- Proactive patrols have taken place,
- No reports of theft related offences since 1st April 2026.
