The commencing salary will be within Scale D £10.22 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £11.32 plus appropriate enhancements.
|Description||Relief Detention Officers|
|You will be responsible for the safety and welfare of detained persons, male and female, from arrest to conclusion of investigation and subsequent appearance at court or release from custody in accordance with legislative requirements, Force policies and orders.|

Please note applicants applying should hold a full clean driving licence as travel between Bournemouth and Weymouth may be required at times.
The initial training for successful candidates is 6 weeks in duration and held at a number locations, (Exeter, Ferndown and Winfrith) (1 week requires a residential stay in Exeter).
An internal applicant will need to seek support for their temporary release from their substantive role. An Internal applicant will require approximately 17 days of training.
Relief staff are often requested to work at short notice and are paid the following month for hours worked.
