Positive Action

We aim to employ a representative workforce that reflects the communities we serve, as we recognise that having a diverse workforce makes us more approachable and relevant to our communities. In order to achieve this we are proud to pursue a policy of ‘positive action’.

‘Positive action’ is when an employer takes steps to help or encourage certain groups of people with different needs, or who are disadvantaged in some way.

We would like to encourage applications from BAME communities, women, and people with disabilities, young people and those from the LGBT community.

If you would like further information about this scheme and the support available please provide us with your contact details in order for a member of our Positive Action Team to contact you.

(Please note, this will take you through to the Devon & Cornwall Police Positive Action site. This is because Dorset Police and Devon & Cornwall Police are working together on promoting Positive Action)
