Police Officer Opportunities
Police Officer appointments will now be via one of two routes:-
Police Officer Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA) if you don’t have a degree
- Entry requirements. You will need to be 18 or older, and have achieved a Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) and Level 2 in English and Mathematics (or equivalent) prior to entry. You will learn the role of a Police Officer and undertake a 3 year apprenticeship. At the end of this period you will be awarded a Professional Policing Practice Degree. Degree Holder Entry Programme (DHEP) if you do have a degree
- The Degree Holder Programme will be available to applicants that already hold a degree, to allow conversion of such, alongside of training to be a police officer. You first two years will be spent as a probationer following a work-based training programme. This will be supported by off-the-job learning delivered by our in-house training team.
- From day one you will be a police officer and you will achieve a graduate diploma in Professional Policing Practice.
