Assistant Chief Constable Steve Lyne, Specialist Operations
Steve Lyne has worked in Dorset Police since 2001.
Accountable to the Deputy Chief Constable, Steve is responsible for Contact Management, Specialist Operations, Transformation and Continuous Improvement, Forensic Capability Network and Prevention.
He started his role as Assistant Chief Constable in August 2021 after moving on as Chief Superintendent and Local Policing Commander for Dorset County.
His career has spanned over many areas of policing including patrol, public order, neighbourhood, contact management, NPCC forensic portfolio and Corporate Development.
Steve is an accredited Strategic Firearms Commander, Senior Investigating Officer, Public Order Gold Commander and Multi Agency Gold Incident Commander. He also holds a MSt in Applied Criminology and Police Management (Police Executive Programme) from Cambridge University.
Steve was born in Dorset and is proud to protect and serve the community in which he was raised.
