Woman inappropriately touched in Westbourne

Detectives in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a man inappropriately touched a woman in the Westbourne area of the town.

Some time between 11pm and 11.20pm on Monday, 27 June 2011, a man approached a 19-year-old Bournemouth woman along Alumhurst Road.

This man inappropriately touched the victim as they neared the junction with Herbert Road.

Detective Sergeant Lindsay Dudfield, of Bournemouth CID, said: "The victim ran away from the offender immediately after this distressing incident."

The offender is aged between 23 and 27, around five feet ten inches tall and of a tanned complexion or Middle Eastern appearance.

He was wearing shorts, a black T-shirt and dark baseball cap.

DS Dudfield continued: "I am appealing for anyone who witnesses this incident, and anyone with any information about the man responsible, to contact me urgently.

"All calls will be treated in the strictest of confidence."
