Sadly, the rider of the motorcycle sustained fatal injuries.

An inquest was opened and adjourned at 3.05pm on Thursday 24 October 2013 at the coroner’s court in Bournemouth. Evidence was heard that 41-year-old Michael William Birt from Bournemouth died at Poole Hospital on Tuesday 22 October 2013. The cause of death is currently unascertained pending toxicology results.

The family of Mr. Birt said: “Michael was a well-loved and popular young family man who had a great zest for life and always thought of other people before himself.

“He was tragically taken away too soon and leaves behind his wife Suzanne, his three children Luke, Josh and Katie and his loving family.

“We all miss him terribly and would like to thank you all for the support and kind words which we have received from all his friends and family.  'Cheers' Michael and have as many 'one more' as you want.....night night and sleep tight.”
