Public encouraged to support Weymouth operation

Officers in Weymouth are encouraging the public to support them as they continue to tackle criminal activity in the Littlemoor area of the town.

Over a dozen arrests have been made in recent weeks as part of the police operation in Littlemoor, with a number of people remaining on police bail while enquiries continue.

Recent reports of vehicle break-ins and arson attacks on cars in the Littlemoor area have been received by Dorset Police.

Anyone with any information about these offences, or any other criminal activity within the area, should contact Dorset Police in confidence on 101.

Les Fry, Weymouth and Portland Neighbourhood Inspector, said: “We will take a robust and positive approach when dealing with anyone committing offences.

“We have made a number of arrests in relation to criminal activity in Littlemoor recently and our enquiries remain ongoing.

“Local Safer Neighbourhood Team officers are committed to supporting all victims and they are working closely with partner agencies to ensure that those responsible are dealt with appropriately.

“We are working in close partnership with all possible agencies and community groups in the area, so that we can give the very best level of service and support to the people of Littlemoor.

“I would strongly urge anyone with information about criminal activity in the Littlemoor area to contact us in confidence on 101. Your information may prove vital in our investigation.

I am pleased to see that the Littlemoor community is rallying together to help us tackle these issues.
