Murder investigation launched in Boscombe
Detectives have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of a body at an address in the Boscombe area of Bournemouth – with two people being arrested.
At around midday today, Tuesday 26 May 2015, police discovered the body of a 19-year-old local man in a flat in Sea Road.
The circumstances of his death are suspicious and a murder investigation, led by detectives from Dorset Police’s Major Crime Investigation Team, is underway.
The man’s next of kin have been informed and are being kept updated by specially-trained officers. The coroner has been notified.
At 3.50pm today, a 25-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman – both from Bournemouth – were arrested in Weymouth on suspicion of murder and are helping police with their enquiries.
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Stewart Balmer, of Dorset Police’s MCIT, said: “We are still building a picture of exactly what happened earlier today, Tuesday 26 May 2015.
“If anyone saw or heard anything suspicious in the Sea Road area of Boscombe or has any other information that could be useful, I would urge them to please get in touch.”
A cordon has been put in place at the address in Sea Road and is expected to remain in place for some time while crime scene investigators carry out a thorough examination of the scene.
Officers are also carrying out house-to-house enquiries.
