Man charged after Charminster sudden death

Detectives investigating the death of a Bournemouth man have charged a man with manslaughter.

Andrew Young, aged 40 and from Bournemouth, sustained a head injury at around 3.25pm on Wednesday 6 November 2013 outside the Tesco Metro store on Charminster Road. He later died at Southampton hospital.

Next of kin and the Coroner have been informed.

A 20-year-old man was arrested in Croydon last night, Friday 8 November 2013. He has been charged with manslaughter and will appear at Bournemouth Magistrates’ Court on Monday 11 November 2013.

Detective Inspector Marcus Hester, of the Dorset Police Major Crime Team, said: “I continue to urge anyone who witnessed this incident and anyone with information to contact the police urgently. All calls are treated with the strictest of confidence.”
