Incident at Pokesdown Railway Station

Officers from Dorset Police are investigating an incident at Pokesdown Railway Station following a report that a woman had fallen onto the track from a nearby road bridge at approximately 9.55am on the morning of Sunday 2 September 2012.

The woman, aged 20 and from Bournemouth, sustained injuries from the impact of the fall. She was taken to hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

A 25-year-old Hampshire man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is being questioned by police.

The exact circumstances surrounding how the woman came to be on the track are subject to an ongoing police investigation.

The 25-year-old Hampshire man arrested on Sunday 2 September 2012 has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
