Fail to stop road traffic collision in Gillingham

Officers investigating a road traffic collision in Gillingham are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward.

At around 9.45pm on Saturday 20 December 2014, a collision occurred at the junction of Le Neubourg Way and Wyke Street.

A blue Ford Fiesta travelling along Le Neubourg Way toward Shaftesbury struck the rear off-side wing of a black Renault Clio.

The Fiesta failed to stop at the scene.

Police Constable Pat McLoughlin, of Blandford police, said: “Fortunately no one was seriously injured. We believe the last two registration plate letters of the Fiesta are similar to HVC.

“I am keen to speak with anyone who may have information about the blue Ford Fiesta involved in the collision and anyone who witnessed the incident and has not yet spoken with police.

“I would also urge anyone who may know of a blue Ford Fiesta with a similar registration that has received front-end damage since Saturday 20 December 2014 to contact me.”

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 20:456. Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
