Drugs arrest in Bournemouth
A man has been arrested - Tuesday 28 March 2011 - as a result of police enquiries under the Misuse of Drugs Act in Bournemouth.
Part of Operation Dismantle, this latest arrest is just one of many that have been conducted throughout Bournemouth over recent months.
As a result of this latest operation, a 56-year-old Bournemouth man was arrested in the Springbourne area and is helping officers with their enquiries.
A property along Methuen Close has been identified through the investigation and has been cordoned off by officers. This address will be the subject of further investigation.
An investigation is ongoing into the suspected manufacture and production of the illicit drug known as Crystal Meth.
Inspector Chris Weeks, East Bournemouth Section Commander, said: "We are working closely with our partners in this incident and are taking precautionary steps to keep the public safe.
"As a precaution, a small number of people from neighbouring properties are being evacuated overnight.
"Advice is being given to local residents in relation to the involved substances.
"I would encourage anyone with information about drug supply in the area to report it to Dorset Police in confidence as we are determined to show those involved in criminality that it will not be tolerated."
