Drug arrest in Purbeck following police operation

A man was arrested last week after officers carried out a search warrant at a private address under the Misuse of Drugs Act in Wool.

Part of Operation Dismantle, this latest warrant – which took place on Monday, 14 February – is just one of many that have been conducted throughout Purbeck over recent months.

As a result of this latest operation, a 24-year-old man was arrested and subsequently cautioned for cultivating cannabis.

A small quantity of cannabis and hydroponic equipment were seized during the raid.

Police Constable Craig Tatton, of Purbeck police, said: "Despite our already exceptionally low crime levels, local police are determined to show those involved in criminality that it will not be tolerated.

"Purbeck Safer Neighbourhood Teams are continually committed to making our communities even safer and would encourage anyone with information about drug supply in the area to report it to Dorset Police in confidence.

"It is essential that our communities continue to tell us what is going on in their area so that we can continue tackling those issues important to local people."

Anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 01202 or 01305 22 22 22 or the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
