Charge following alleged assault in Poole

Detectives investigating an alleged assault in Poole have charged a teenage boy.

The incident happened after 3pm on Thursday 28 January 2016 in an alleyway close to Poole High School.

A 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital for treatment to a single stab wound. His condition was not life-threatening and he has since left hospital. No one else was injured in the incident.

To alleviate community concerns there was a heightened police presence in the area while enquiries took place.

Detective Constable Karen Penn, of Poole and Bournemouth CID, said: “Following a thorough investigation, we have charged a 15-year-old boy from Poole with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and assault last night, Friday 29 January 2016. He is due to appear in Bournemouth Youth Court on Tuesday 16 February 2016.

“I would like to thank the public for their support and co-operation during the investigation.

“It is very important to stress that it is vital that the justice system is allowed to follow its course.

“Should any residents have any additional concerns, our local neighbourhood policing team can be contacted to answer any questions and offer assurances.”
