Arrests after drugs enforcement in Blandford

Police in Blandford have made two arrests as part of an ongoing operation to tackle the misuse of drugs in the town.

Uniformed officers and a specialist drugs search dog visited several licensed premises in the town on the evening of Friday 14 December 2012.

Sergeant Paul Hooker, of Blandford Police, said: “This activity is part of our ongoing crackdown on drug use and we will continue to provide a visible presence in licensed premises in the town.

“I want to send out a clear message to those who sell and use Class A drugs that Dorset Police will not tolerate this activity and, together with our partners, we will continue to take positive action where necessary.

“I’d also urge landlords and residents who have concerns about the misuse of drugs to contact us on 101.”

A 26-year-old man and a 43-year-old man, both from Blandford, were arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs. They have been released on police bail.
