Alleged assault in Bournemouth - witness CCTV appeal

Detectives investigating an alleged assault in Bournemouth have released a CCTV image of a witness they would like to speak to – with three men having been arrested.

At around 3.15am on Sunday 7 November 2015, police were called to reports of an assault outside the Carisbrooke Hotel in Tregonwell Road.

A 22-year-old man from Stevenage sustained a broken jaw. He was taken to the Royal Bournemouth Hospital for treatment.

Now officers are releasing an image of a woman who was not involved in the alleged incident but may have information that could assist the investigation.

Detective Constable Jo Regan, of Bournemouth CID, said: “Following an investigation, I have received a CCTV image of a woman who I believe may be an important witness and have information that could help my investigation.

“If you are the woman pictured, or you recognised her, please call me on 101.”

Two men aged 38 and 39 and both from Luton in Bedfordshire and a 38-year-old man from Bournemouth were arrested on suspicion of assault and have been released on police bail pending further enquiries until mid-March 2016.

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 7:79. Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
