Alleged aggravated burglary in Bournemouth

Detectives investigating an alleged aggravated burglary in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward – with one man being arrested.

At around 7pm on Saturday 21 February 2015, one man allegedly forced his way into an address on Harewood Avenue, assaulted an 83-year-old local man with a knife and stole a number of items.

The victim was taken to Royal Bournemouth Hospital. He sustained a large laceration to his head, cuts on his hand and injuries to his back during the alleged incident.

Detective Constable Danielle Knight, of Bournemouth CID, said: “The victim sustained serious injuries during this incident.

“I would like to hear from anyone who was in the area on the Saturday evening and saw or heard anything unusual or suspicious.

“I urge anyone with any information to contact Dorset Police, in confidence, on 101.”

A 35-year-old Bournemouth man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and released on police bail until the beginning of March 2015 pending further enquiries.
