Dorset Police HQ Open Day
On Saturday 20 July from 11am – 4pm we will be opening up Dorset Police HQ (DT2 8DZ) to the public! Come along and meet:
Dog unit | Drone unit | Traffic unit | Safety camera team | Neighbourhood policing team | Firearms unit | Safer schools team | Forensics team | Search team | Marine section | Public order unit | Ropes team | Cyber crime team | Rural crime team | 999/101 Call handling team | Recruitment and volunteering team | Dorset Police and Crime Commissioner
There will be displays from our police dogs, drone team, ropes team, method of entry officers (chainsawing and knocking doors down) and we will even be throwing petrol bombs at officers to show how they deal with disorder! 😮
Alongside our displays and information stands, you can also have a go at securing evidence and solving crime with our CSIs, try on some police uniform and equipment and shoot some paintball guns in our firearms range!
These are just some of the amazing things you’ll be able to do on the day!

We welcome dogs to the site, but please keep them on a lead and remember to clean up after them!
We’ve got ample parking in an adjacent field to the HQ site. Please follow signs and instructions of where to park upon arrival. There is a designated concrete area for disabled vehicles. Please put your hazard lights on when on the final approach road to the site should you need disabled parking.
The nearest train station to the site is Wool, which is approximately a 25 minute walk away. We are offering a free minibus shuttle service between the station and the site for those who prefer not to walk. Please look out for the uniformed officer or staff member at the station who will be able to assist.
There will be five caterers on site for the duration of the day selling hot and cold food and drinks. You’re also welcome to bring packed lunches to enjoy on the site.
A printed events programme will be available on the day as you enter the site. You are welcome to arrive from 10:30am onwards, ready for the official opening from 11am.

Unfortunately there isn't a cash machine on site and we cannot guarantee the food and drink vendors will accept card payments so please bring cash along with you. The nearest cash point is in the Spar shop in Wool village.
