Witness appeal following burglary in Southbourne

Officers investigating a burglary in Southbourne are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Some time between 5pm on Friday 20 March and 10am on Monday 23 March 2020 two outboard powerboat motors were stolen from Hengistbury Head Outdoor Education Centre. The motors are used by Mudeford Sea Scouts and were being stored in a shipping container at the centre for safekeeping. 

The stolen items include a Suzuki 4-stroke outboard engine and a Johnson 2-stroke outboard engine.

Police Sergeant Richard Barnett, of Dorset Police, said: “I am appealing for anyone with any information about this burglary, or who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area at the relevant time, to please contact us.

“I am also keen to hear from anyone who has been offered engines matching the description given for sale in unusual circumstances or who has knowledge of their whereabouts.”
