Further update in relation to reported thefts and bilking in Poole

Officers investigating reported theft and bilking offences in Poole have made a second arrest.

It was reported that a black Ford Galaxy was stolen from a home in Ashley Road at around 5.45am on Sunday 5 January 2020. The vehicle was then reportedly involved in a bilking incident at the Esso Highland Service Station on Ashley Road at around 4.30am on Thursday 9 January 2020.

The occupants of the vehicle were also allegedly involved in a shoplifting offence at Asda Canford Heath at around 9.15am on Thursday 9 January 2020.

The car was located in the area of Grove Road in Bournemouth shortly before 11am on Thursday 9 January 2020 and was recovered.

A 22-year-old Poole man was previously arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, theft from a shop, making off without payment and driving offences. He was released under investigation.

Following further enquiries by officers, an 18-year-old man has also been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, theft from a shop, making off without payment and driving offences and has been released under investigation.
