Alleged attempted rape in Weymouth – man charged

Detectives investigating an alleged attempted rape in Weymouth have this evening, Thursday 23 June 2016, charged a man.

The 29-year-old from Weymouth has been charged with attempt rape of a woman aged 16 or over, a sexual assault offence, assault by beating, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and trespass on premises with the intent to commit a relevant offence and is due to appear before Weymouth Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Friday 24 June 2016.

The alleged offences relate to three separate incidents, including reports that a woman was attacked just off Gloucester Mews in Weymouth town centre in the early hours of Tuesday 21 June.
