Appeal following incident involving electric scooter in Bournemouth

Officers in Bournemouth investigating a collision involving an electric scooter and a pedestrian are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward. 

The incident occurred at Branksome Beach on Sunday 26 January 2020 shortly after 1pm.

It was reported that an electric powered stand-up scooter collided with a female runner. The runner, a 68-year-old woman from Poole, has been left with serious injuries. The scooter driver, described as a slim man with dark clothing, did not leave his details or remain at the scene.

Police Constable Craig Jeffery, of the traffic unit, said: “I believe there were numerous walkers in the area at the time that witnessed what happened and I am appealing for anyone who has not yet spoken to officers to come forward.

“Anyone who has information about the man involved is asked to contact police. I would also urge the scooter driver to do the right thing and contact us to help with our investigation.”
