Further update in Bournemouth murder investigation

A teenage boy who was arrested on suspicion of affray in relation to a Bournemouth murder investigation has been released without charge.

At 10.10pm on Saturday 16 November 2019 Dorset Police was called by the ambulance service to reports that a man had sustained stab wounds to his chest in St Swithun’s Road. The 20-year-old – named by detectives as Kai Joshua Archer from Bournemouth – was taken to hospital where he sadly died a short time later.

An investigation was launched led by detectives from Dorset Police’s Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT). As previously reported, Jamie Frank Higgs, aged 18 and from Bournemouth, was arrested in connection with the incident and charged with murder. He is next due to appear at Winchester Crown Court on Friday 21 February 2020. 

In relation to the investigation, a 17-year-old Bournemouth boy was arrested on suspicion of affray and will face no further police action for that offence.
