Update – man arrested in connection with reported serious assault in Bournemouth

A man has been arrested in connection with an alleged serious assault in Bournemouth town centre.

It was reported that at around 5am on Saturday 28 December 2019 an altercation occurred involving a group of people on Lorne Park Road at the junction with Old Christchurch Road. During the incident, a man – aged in his 20s – sustained stab wounds to his back.

He was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Following a CCTV appeal and enquiries by detectives, a 20-year-old Bournemouth man was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent. He has been released under investigation as officers continue to make enquiries.
