Appeal for witnesses following reported affray in Bournemouth

Detectives investigating a reported altercation in Bournemouth town centre are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

The incident occurred at around 3.30am on Sunday 1 December 2019 in the area of Old Christchurch Road and Wootton Gardens. 

A group of men, who were reportedly ejected from the DNA Nightclub on Old Christchurch Road were involved in a dispute with a man and a woman outside Vodka Revolution before heading off in the direction of Wootton Gardens.

The group reportedly returned to Old Christchurch Road area a short time later, where a further altercation occurred. The man and woman were allegedly assaulted and struck with an object. Enquiries are ongoing to establish what the object was.

Officers attended and carried out a search of the area. Three men from the London area, aged 24, 25 and 27, have been arrested on suspicion of affray and have been released on police bail while detectives continue to make enquiries into the incident. 

Nobody involved required hospital treatment.

Detective Constable Katie Spyrou, of Bournemouth CID, said: “This is an ongoing investigation and I am appealing to any witnesses or anyone with information that can assist us to please get in touch.

“I understand there were a number of people in the area at the time of the incident and from our enquiries we believe people may have recorded some of it on their mobile phones. I would urge anyone who has any footage to contact us.

“I am also keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the Wootton Gardens area in the early hours of Sunday 1 December 2019.”
