Witness appeal following attempted robbery in Bournemouth

Officers investigating an attempted robbery in Bournemouth town centre are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

At approximately 3.15am on Thursday 24 October 2019 the victim, aged in his 20s and from Hampshire, was walking on Madeira Road when two men approached him from behind and slapped him on the head.

The two men stole the victim’s bag.

A number of people in the area at the time intervened and managed to recover the victim’s bag.

Police Constable Ryan Greenwell, of Bournemouth police, said: “Enquiries are ongoing and I am keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident.

“I would like to thank the members of public who came to the victim’s aid and I am appealing to any of them who have not yet spoken to police to come forward as they may have information to assist my investigation.”
