Appeal for information following reported assaults in Bournemouth

Detectives investigating reported assaults on two men in Bournemouth town centre are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The incident occurred at around 12.50am on Sunday 20 October 2019 on Glen Fern Road. The victims, both aged in their 20s, were walking along the road with friends when they were approached by a group of young people, who were known to them, and allegedly assaulted.

One of the men was reportedly punched in the face and sustained a suspected broken nose and the other victim was allegedly punched and then kicked in the face after he fell to the ground. He sustained a cut to his cheek and bruising.

Officers attended the scene after being alerted by town centre CCTV camera operators and two male suspects were arrested in Old Christchurch Road.

An 18-year-old man and 15-year-old boy, both from Bournemouth, have been arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning actual bodily harm and have been released under investigation as detectives continue to make enquiries into the incident.

Detective Constable Paul Craig, of Bournemouth CID, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident and I am appealing for any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please contact us.”
