Appeal following reported robbery in Bournemouth

Detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward after a teenage boy was reportedly robbed in Bournemouth.

At approximately 2.45am on Wednesday 28 August 2019 it is reported that a 16-year-old boy was sitting with a friend in Winton Recreation Park on Fitzharris Avenue when they were approached by three male teenagers.

It was reported that one of the group hit the victim on the head causing him to lose consciousness. When the victim gained consciousness it is alleged that he was threatened with a knife and his bag was stolen, which contained a mobile phone and a quantity of cash.

The victim sustained minor injuries to his head and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Three boys, aged 15 and 16 and from Bournemouth, have been arrested on suspicion of robbery. One of the 15-year-old boys was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. They are currently assisting detectives with their enquiries. 

Detective Sergeant Aimee Lloyd, of Bournemouth CID, said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident and has not yet spoken to police to please get in touch.”
