Witness appeal following road related incident in Christchurch

Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a road related incident in Christchurch.

At 11.03am today, Friday 19 July 2019, Dorset Police received a report that a passenger had exited the front-left side of a maroon-coloured Mazda 3 while it was moving on the A35 between Stoney Lane roundabout and Fountain roundabout.

The man, aged in his 40s, sustained a serious but not life-threatening head injury and has been taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Mazda, a man aged in his 80s from Christchurch, was uninjured.

Police Constable Mark Palmer, of the traffic police, said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident and has not yet spoken to police to come forward.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have any relevant dashcam footage that could help my investigation.”
