Alleged theft of car in Shaftesbury – man charged

A man has been charged in connection with the alleged theft of a car in Shaftesbury.

At around 4pm on Wednesday 19 June 2019 it is reported a Peugeot 206 with the registration LG56 CNY was stolen from the Westminster Memorial Hospital on Abbey Walk.

Yesterday, Wednesday 26 June 2019, officers issued a photo of the stolen vehicle, which has not yet been located.

A 34-year-old local man has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle and is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday 27 June 2019.

Inspector Simon Perry, of North Dorset police, said: “We are yet to locate the vehicle and our investigation into this incident remains ongoing. 

“I would ask anyone who has seen this vehicle or knows of its whereabouts to please contact Dorset Police.”
