Update – further arrests in connection with reported stabbings in Bournemouth

Detectives investigating an incident in which two men reportedly suffered stab wounds in Bournemouth town centre have made five further arrests.

The incident occurred at around 12.45am on Saturday 15 June 2019 in a pedestrianised area of Old Christchurch Road near to the junction with Albert Road.

It was reported that a group of four men aged in their 20s were approached by a group of teenagers who began chasing and assaulting them. 

One of the victims was found at an address in Richmond Hill with a suspected stab wound to his leg and was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.

The second victim also had a suspected stab wound to his leg, which is also not life-changing or life-threatening.

A 14-year-old Bournemouth boy was previously arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and was released under investigation.

Following further enquiries by detectives, five more boys from Bournemouth – two aged 14, two aged 15 and one aged 16 – have also been arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent. They have all been released under investigation.
