Witness appeal following serious injury collision in Wimborne

Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a serious injury collision in Wimborne.

At 1.51pm today, Monday 24 June 2019, Dorset Police was called by the ambulance service to a report of a collision involving a white Chevrolet Trax and a pedestrian on Allenview Road.

The pedestrian, a woman aged in her 90s from Ferndown, sustained a serious head injury and has been taken to Poole Hospital for treatment. Her condition is currently described as life-threatening.

The driver of the Chevrolet, a woman from Hampshire, was uninjured.

Allenview Road is currently closed to allow emergency services to deal with the incident.

Police Sergeant Nikki Burt, of the traffic unit, said: “I am appealing to anyone who was travelling along the road around the time of the incident and either witnessed the collision or may have relevant dashcam footage to come forward.

“We are currently examining the scene to establish the exact circumstances of the collision. I would like to thank motorists for their patience while the road closure is in place.”
