Update – arrest in connection with reported robbery in Wareham

Detectives investigating a reported robbery in Wareham have made an arrest.

It was reported that a local man aged in his 20s was sitting on a bench in North Street with two friends at around 9.10pm on Wednesday 5 June 2019 when they were approached by a group of seven men.

The group allegedly assaulted the man before going through his pockets and stealing his wallet, which contained £10, his bank card and a Navy medal that belonged to his father.

Following enquiries, a 17-year-old boy from the Wareham area has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and has been released under investigation.
