Alleged animal cruelty incident in Bournemouth – man arrested

Officers investigating an alleged animal cruelty incident in Bournemouth have arrested a man.
It was reported that at around 6.55pm on Sunday 14 April 2019 a man was seen to physically abuse a dog in the beer garden of the Buffalo Bar off Holdenhurst Road.
A CCTV appeal was issued on Wednesday 22 May 2019.
On Sunday 26 May 2019 a 39-year-old man of no fixed abode was arrested on suspicion of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal and has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
Police Constable Emily Watkins, of Bournemouth police, said: “I would like to thank those members of public who contacted us in response to our CCTV appeal.
“Following a detailed investigation, we were able to identify the dog’s owners and he has been safely returned to them. The dog has not suffered any lasting physical injuries.”
