Update - witness appeal following reported serious assault in Poole

Detectives investigating a reported serious assault in Poole have made two further arrests.

Dorset Police was called at 12.20am on Sunday 19 May 2019 to reports of a stabbing outside The Cabin in Old Orchard.

A local man aged in his 30s sustained stab injuries to his back and was taken to hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.

A 22-year-old Bournemouth man and a 24-year-old man of no fixed abode were arrested on Sunday 19 May 2019 on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. The 22-year-old has been released under investigation and the 24-year-old has been released on police bail.

On Monday 20 May 2019 a 16-year-old boy and a 41-year-old man, both from Poole, were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. The 16-year-old boy has been released on police bail and the 41-year-old man released under investigation.

Detective Constable Ben Swain, of Bournemouth CID, said: "An investigation remains ongoing into this incident and I am again renewing my appeal for witnesses to come forward.

"I am aware there were a number of people in Dorset Booze off licence and Munchies takeaway at this time and I would ask anyone who was present to please come forward as you may have important information that could assist my enquiries."
