Appeal following serious injury fail-to-stop collision near Wimborne

Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a serious injury fail-to-stop collision near Wimborne.

At around 3.05pm yesterday, Friday 19 April 2019, a road traffic collision occurred on the unclassified road between the Horton Inn and Gussage All Saints involving a red Honda motorcycle and an unknown red vehicle, which failed to stop at the scene. 

The rider of the motorcycle – a local man aged in his 60s – sustained serious injuries. His pillion passenger - a local woman aged in her 60s – was also seriously injured. They were both taken to hospital for treatment by ambulance. Their conditions are not life-threatening.

Sergeant Lee Savage, of the traffic unit, said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the manner of driving immediately prior to the incident to please get in touch.

“I am also keen to hear from anyone who was travelling along that road at the time and may have captured the incident on dashcam and can help me identify the outstanding red vehicle.”
