Man charged following alleged serious assault in Bournemouth

Detectives investigating an alleged serious assault in Bournemouth have charged a man.

Dorset Police was called at 5.20pm on Monday 15 April 2019 to reports of an assault in St Peter’s Road in the town.

Officers attended and discovered one man aged in his 50s had sustained a serious head injury. He was flown by air ambulance to Southampton General Hospital with life-threatening injuries. His condition remains unchanged.

Four people were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.

A 25-year-old Bournemouth man has now been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court today, Wednesday 17 April 2019.

A 23-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl, both from Bournemouth, and a 47-year-old man of no fixed abode have been released under investigation.
