Witness appeal following theft near Wimborne

Officers investigating the theft of a mini digger near Wimborne are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

The 1.5-tonne JCB mini digger, valued at around £5,800, was taken from a works yard in Petersham Lane. The theft is believed to have occurred between 1am on Saturday 2 March and 2pm on Monday 4 March 2019.

A second mini digger was also taken from the site but was found in a field nearby.

Police Community Support Investigator Kate Hann, of Dorset Police, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this incident and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area of Petersham Lane on the night of Saturday 2 March or Sunday 3 March 2019 to contact us.

“I am also releasing an image of the stolen digger and would urge anyone who comes across a similar digger in suspicious circumstances or being offered for sale to get in touch.”
