Witness appeal following arson in Poole

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward following an arson attack in Poole.

At around 12.20am on Tuesday 17 May 2016, Dorset Police were called by the fire service to reports of a fire in the porch of an address in Russell Gardens. A woman and three children escaped uninjured.

It is believed the fire was started deliberately and an investigation is underway. 

Detective Sergeant Ian Allen, of Bournemouth CID, said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident to please call me.

“I believe two men dressed in dark clothing were seen acting suspiciously in the area and left in a silver-coloured estate car.

“Anyone who saw these men or the car is urged to make contact.”

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 17:05. Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
