Appeal following alleged assault in Bournemouth

Officers are appealing for witnesses following an alleged assault in Bournemouth.

The incident happened at around 6.40pm on Monday 4 February 2019 on Wimborne Road in Winton between St Luke's Road and Alma Road.

It was reported that an altercation occurred between a man and a woman. During the incident it is reported that the woman was assaulted. She did not require hospital treatment.

Both the man and woman were believed to be known to each other.

A 35-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of assault and is assisting officers with enquiries.

Police Sergeant Sophie Williams, of Bournemouth police, said: "I understand that there were a number of people in the area at the time of the incident and am appealing to anyone who witnessed what happened to please come forward."
