Update – man charged in connection with explosion at house in Poole

A man has been charged and is due to appear at court today in connection with an explosion at a property in Poole.

Dorset Police was called at 1.47pm on Monday 22 October 2018 to the address in Sterte Road following a report that an explosion had caused the property to partially collapse.

A woman aged in her 60s was treated at the scene for minor injuries and a 66-year-old man was arrested and taken to hospital.

The man, now aged 67, has been released from hospital and has been charged with an offence of arson with intent/reckless as to whether life was endangered. He is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court today, Wednesday 16 January 2019.
