Man charged in connection with armed robbery in Sturminster Newton

A man has been charged in connection with an armed robbery in Sturminster Newton.

At 5.45am on Monday 5 March 2018 officers were called to reports that a man armed with a handgun had entered One Stop on Station Road.

He reportedly threatened a member of staff and stole a quantity of cash before leaving the shop.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

A 27-year-old man from Stalbridge has been charged with robbery and possessing a firearm in a public place and appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 18 December 2018. He is next due to appear at Bournemouth Crown Court on Thursday 17 January 2019.

A 25-year-old Sturminster Newton man who was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit robbery and robbery remains released under investigation.

A 59-year-old woman from Stabridge was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery and committing an act to pervert the course of justice and also remains released under investigation.
