Alleged aggravated burglary in Bournemouth - two men arrested

Detectives investigating an alleged distraction burglary in Bournemouth have arrested two men.

The men – aged 28 and 32 and both from Three Legged Cross – have been arrested on suspicion of burglary and are currently assisting officers with enquiries.

Dorset Police were called to reports that two men attended an address in Jewell Road in the Townsend area asking to retrieve their football from the back of a woman’s property.

It is alleged one of the men forced his way into the victim's house, causing her to fall to the floor. 

The victim – who is aged in her 90s – suffered bruising on her arm and below her eye.

It is alleged a quantity of cash and a navy blue handbag was stolen during the incident, which happened at around 1.35pm on Monday 2 May 2016.
