Witness appeal following fatal collision in Sturminster Marshall

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward following a fatal collision in Sturminster Marshall.

At 3.05pm yesterday, Sunday 8 May 2016, Dorset Police were called to a single vehicle road traffic collision in Church Street.

A green and grey Isuzu Trooper Citation estate car left the road and collided with a tree.

The road was closed while emergency services, including the air ambulance, attended the incident.

Sadly the driver of the car – an 83-year-old local man – died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and the coroner notified.

Police Constable Sean Todd, of Dorset Police’s Traffic Unit, said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or saw the manner of the driving of the vehicle prior to the incident, to please call me on 101.”
