Officers investigating a serious injury collision in Christchurch are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
At 8.41am today, Thursday 25 October 2018, Dorset Police was called to reports of a serious injury road traffic collision involving a silver Volkswagen Golf and a pedestrian on Barrack Road.
The pedestrian – a man aged in his 50s and from the Christchurch area – sustained head, leg and chest injuries and was taken to Poole Hospital for treatment. His condition is described as serious but stable.
The driver of the Golf was not injured.
Closures were put in place between The Grove roundabout and Jumpers Road while emergency services dealt with the incident.
Police Sergeant Phil Lee, of the traffic unit, said: “A full investigation is underway to establish the circumstances of this collision.
“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision and has not yet spoken to officers to please contact Dorset Police.
“I am also keen to hear from any motorists who were travelling along Barrack Road at the time of the incident and may have captured all or part of the collision recorded on their dashcam.”
