Appeal after fail-to-stop collision near Bere Regis

Officers investigating a fail-to-stop collision near Bere Regis are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The collision happened at around 7.20pm on Monday 25 June 2018 at the Bere Regis roundabout by the Shell petrol station. 

A vehicle - believed to be a Volkswagen Caddy or similar - was in collision with a blue Ford Focus, causing the Ford extensive front end damage. The Volkswagen failed to stop at the scene and drove away in the direction of Wareham.

The front seat passenger of the Ford suffered minor injuries and was treated at the roadside by paramedics.

Police Constable Julie Wooliscroft, of the traffic unit, said: "I am appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who has details about the second vehicle involved to please come forward.

"If you have dashcam footage and were in the vicinity at the time, or know of a car that has sustained recent damage, you can contact Dorset Police or call Crimestoppers anonymously."
