Advice to public following two burglaries in Purbeck

22 June 2018
Detectives are urging members of the public to be vigilant following two high-value car burglaries in the Purbeck area.

Two residential burglaries occurred overnight between Monday 18 June and Tuesday 19 June 2018 in Wareham and Swanage.

Offenders gained entry and a set of car keys was stolen from each property. The vehicles, a Volkswagen Golf and an Audi S4, were taken from nearby to the properties.

Detective Inspector Neil Wright, of the Priority Crime Team, said: “While we have only had a small number of incidents in Dorset, we would like to remind members of the public to remain vigilant.

“Consider keeping your car keys in a safe when you are at home. For further crime prevention advice, please visit www.dorset.police.uk/burglary.

“We are carrying out detailed enquiries into each of the incidents and I would urge anyone with information to contact police.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk, or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55180094192. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
