Appeal for witnesses following assault in Bournemouth

Detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward following an assault in Bournemouth.

The incident happened at approximately 3.25am on Saturday 7 April 2018 on Old Christchurch Road.

The victim - a 16-year-old local boy - was standing near to McDonald’s when he was approached by a man and punched to the face. He sustained a broken jaw and was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries.

Detective Constable Honor Mcadam, of Bournemouth CID, said: “This was an unprovoked attack and I have been carrying out a number of initial enquiries, including CCTV trawls of the area, in order to identify those involved.

“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the altercation, and has not yet spoken to police, to please come forward.

“If you know who was responsible, or have any information which may assist me in my investigation, I would urge you to please get in touch.”
