Update – Witness appeal following reported assault and theft in Dorchester

A man arrested in connection with a reported assault and theft incident in Dorchester has been released without charge.

At around 2.10pm on Saturday 9 December 2017 a man was busking in South Street when it was reported that another man approached him, grabbed his arm and took a quantity of money before depositing it in the collection tin belonging to another busker.

The reported victim – a local teenage man – was uninjured.

A 41-year-old man of no fixed abode was arrested in connection with the incident and has now been released without charge.

Officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
